This cannot be done to my knowledge. You could possibly set this up with VOIP or skype but not with a land line.

Well without getting into an expensive set up you would probably be better off with VoIP.
But you can try IVM. www.nch.com.au/ivm
You can get it make outbound calls (and play a message if you like – for a survey or something) and record the whole conversation.
You would need a TAPI telephony device or a device that has drivers that are compatible with IVM to connect your landline to your PC so that you can make telephone calls.

Yes, you can do this. the first thing you need is a voice modem. These are basic modems that you can buy for your computer that have voice support. Your home telephone line will plug into the modem, then your modem will go to the terminal outside, so all phones go through the computer.
In this configuration, even if the computer is turned off the phone should still work.
First, are the laws in your location. Do they allow you to do this and what conditions are tied to it? I live in Ohio and it is legal as defined in ORC 2933.52 (B)(4) but it does have a stipulation that the recording can only be done by one of the people for whom the communication was intended. In other words, if someone were to call one of my family members, the call was not intended for ME and so I could not record it.
At this point you need some some software which does logging, and there are a lot of them out there. Some will record calls only if you initiate it, some will do it automatically but will also play a beep in the background so the caller knows you are recording it, some will pull the caller ID also, some will let you play specific recordings depending on the number it originates from, or will even drop calls if conditions are met, etc etc. There are lots of options and you need to look at them carefully.
I simply did a search for “voicemail software” and came up with the following links.
I hope this answered your question.
