by yAyREA: What Universities offer a Masters program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering?

Looking for a list of Universities that have a computer science masters program, preferably in California or Oregon. Also, If i have my Bachelors in Computer Science, can i do a masters in Computer Engineering or would i have to have my Bachelors in Computer Engineering

I would recommend looking at collegeboard’s website: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/index.jsp

It will allow you to easily search for schools with a bachelor and/or masters program in Computer Science/Engineering. But it will also let you filter your results by state (like Cali or Oregon) and any other things you might care about (size of school, tuition, ect)

Some schools might allow you to do your masters in computer engineering with a bachelors in computer science, but make sure to look at their website because they will have specific requirements. Computer engineering and computer science are very similar majors but they are distinctly different and you should be able to see which one you enjoy more after freshman year, then you can decide whether or not to pursue your bachelors in cs or ce. I would recommend getting a masters that matches your bachelor.

Good luck, choosing a university can be a long, agonizing process, but remember, any accredited program will be a good program, you usually can’t go wrong. (most of the time)

No respectable Graduate School of Engineering will accept a Computer Science grad without bridging courses. Graduate Engineering is above all Engineering, and CS students have missed a long strong of undergrad Engineering courses.

Your CS degree should also be from a CAC/ABET-accredited School.
