by Valerie: How to transfer Ipod to new computer from a crashed computer?

My old computer had to be completely wiped out from a nasty virus and i didnt have any music backed up or anything. All i have is my Ipod. Is there anyway to put that music on my new computer?

Sorry but there is no way to do that. Your going to need to re-download everything. If you bought the songs, they would be in your itunes purchased library when you sign in. But if you didn’t try limewire, and re-download eveything

Yes. First install iTunes on the new computer. Make sure you authorize your iTunes account on the new computer. Attach your iPod and upload all songs you bought from iTunes (any others will not upload). This worked for me.

Umm something called SharePod.

1Plug in your ipod (You have to have itunes installed)

2Select all(Ctrl + A)

3Click on the top Left Copy to PC and click on the Custom and put in [Title]

4Go to the top where it says Copy tracks to this folder and put in C:\Music

5Click ok and impot you music to itunes

Don’t auto sync because ipod can only sync with one computer itunes or the ipod files will be erased.

itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There’re couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.
