by Jamie: Why is it harder to read on a computer screen than a book?

My eyes feel like they strain more when reading a document on the computer than they do when I read an actual book. I can also skim through a book faster than the computer. And it’s much easier for me to focus on a book than on the computer (even if I’m not perusing the internet or anything). Why is that?

I guess you are used to read books as it’s the opposite for me.

It could be because of the lighting on the computer
