You can use a program called iDump which is a free program which will allow you to transfer your music from your iPod to your computer. When you plug your iPod into your computer make sure you select “Manually manage music and videos” so iTunes doesn’t delete everything then follow the instructions for the program to retrieve and transfer the files from your iPod to iTunes. Be aware that depending on the size of your iPod and library this could take some time so be patient. Also this will only work if you are using a Windows based computer.

Alright, here it is, this is my BEST ANSWER to a previous question like this, it requires NO EXTRA sofware, just follow my instructions, and get your songs:

Go to the control panel>folder options>view>hidden files and folders>enable hidden files

Anything is possible, to transfer your songs, enable hidden files then go to “My Computer” and click on your iPod, then select the folder “ipod_control” then click the folder “music” and the three following folders F00, F01, F02 or maybe more contain the songs you need. Just copy the three folders to your C:/ drive.

Highlight/Select All of them and Open them into iTunes, putting them in your library.

You will then if you bought them on iTunes have to enter your iTunes account and password. Otherwise they will not work. If they are from CD’s or other mp3 sources they will not require a password.

iTunes is fine with you doing this, and thus has the authorization system.

It is completely legal.
