My voice recording with my computer microphone?
Question
by Iamafreak: How do I record my voice with my computer mic?
I borrowed a computer mic from someone that has a speaker on one end and the place where you plug it into your computer on the other end. Where do I put this end, in the speaker or somewhere on the computer itself?
Sorry Im really computer illiterate…

The microphone has two ends. One end records the sound and the other end is connected to the microphone port on the computer. You can find the microphone port which is usually at the back side of desktop or on the front side of laptop (it can also be on the front or the sides depending on the computer you bought). Microphone port is infact a hole with the icon of microphone next to it. An expamle of the icon is http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.cardinalseansblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/icon_mic.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.cardinalseansblog.org/2007/03/16/erin-go-bragh/&h=154&w=137&sz=1&tbnid=0oQsTGfexAxcGM::&tbnh=96&tbnw=85&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmicrophone%2Bicon&usg=__SLH2YhaSE7qQ78F2teguPswT6jM=&ei=AVqeSY_5H4-1kAXq4bnZCw&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=4&ct=image&cd=1
The link http://www.tigerdirect.com/images/itemdetails/desktop-cables/mini-audio-port.jpg will show you audio ports to connect Microphone, Speaker and Line In and the link http://static.compusa.com/html/reference-cables-guide.html will show you how to connect all external devices to a desktop.
After connecting click Start->Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder to record sounds. You can also download any software to do that
