Computer Science (CS) is concerned with the design and development of all types of software, especially software that runs computers or allows devices to work. CS majors work with computer architectures and operating systems and typically enjoy writing computer programs.

On the other hand, Computer Information Systems (CIS) is concerned with the relationship between information systems and the organizations that they serve. This relationship includes not only the theory and principles of such, but also the application and development.

And Database Technology includes theory and experimental methodology for building computer systems that handles large data volumes. Central is development of concepts, languages, software, and methods for describing, storing, searching, analyzing, distributing, and other data processing to make access of data simple, efficient, scalable, reliable, and adaptable for new application areas.

Its like asking “who can build a house?” is it the engineers, architects, labors ..etc.

Computer Science will allow you to explore the theory that lies behind the computer technology and I emphasis on the word THEORY. developing a website includes many processes, one of them is designing.

People who study Software Engineering study the software life cycle which consist of design, however,

you don’t need a university degree to design a website, but where could you find the information?

If you get a degree in SE or Computer Science then you will have to specialize in one of the SDLC steps
