Sounds like you need to check the power connection to all of your components. Usually the best way is to start from the power unit and check all it’s connections are OK, then go from the motherboard and systematically check every connection is secure. If that doesn’t fix it, maybe a piece of faulty hardware or an underpowered power supply?

As the others have said.
Let me add some things to consider. Do you get any beep codes? This can pinpoint your problem specifically ( however if you have multiple problems, it will only identify the first, and one that is fixed you may get a different code). How does your computer react after it shuts down? Does it try to come on again without you pushing start, shut down again, etc? If this is the case check your “on” and “reset” buttons. If your on button is stuck, broken, or improperly installed, it can cause such an on-off cycle.
Is your heatsink properly seated and did you properly apply thermal paste. If you were getting an immediate temperature spike in your cpu it would shut down to protect itself.
Are you sure you didn’t leave any loose screws or wires in the case that may be causing a short?

I had this before, the power supply may be defective or just not work with MB, try changing power supply before going any further. Some cheap Power supply’s will do this

Almost certainly it is overheating due to incorrect fitting of the heatsink/cooler unit.

Most commonly, the RAM is not seated properly. Pull them out and push them in again gently and make sure they latch on properly. This can also happen if your VGA chipset is built into the mobo and uses main RAM for VGA RAM.
You can also check if the VGA card is seated properly. If the power is coming it means the connection to the mobo from the power supply is good. It is halting because it is failing an early POST check.
