by BOB : Can you save your itunes library on one of those portable computer hardrives?
If so, can you transfer your music to another computer?

I have dragged and dropped onto a USB stick and transferred to another library before, I assume this would be the same with an external hard drive.

NOTE windows based information, to answer your question yes you can and here is how
depending on the size of your library you may need more space
1 start then music(you will see a folder called sample music that crap that microsoft gives you and Itunes,
2 right click itunes and select copy
3 open up your external storage medium and right click and paste, depending on how much stuff you have size wise it may take a half hour or so to transfer
then you should be good to go
here’s a tip that not many people know about itunes, before adding the music to your new computer open up itunes and to to edit then preference then the advance tab and check the box that says ‘Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library‘
because otherwise you would have to have the hard drive always plug in to your computer to play the music because with out the box checked itunes makes a link from where it first found the music behind the scenes
