Previous software program on a Windows XP computer to Windows 7 computer it transferred to?

by john w: Is it possible to transfer an old software program from a windows xp computer to a windows 7 computer ?
The software cd is warped and will not work on the new computer. The software maker got bought out years ago. The new owner did not continue the software.

I’m sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but you cannot transfer software between computers.
The installation CD (setup.exe) adds files to the computer that you might not even find – .DLL files, etc.; and the Registry is modified as well.
