Physical memory is the memory on the RAM Chips in your computer. This memory can be added or removed, and works very fast. The problem is that it’s finite: once you run out, you run out.

Virtual memory is the hard disk being used in the same manner as physical memory. Virtual memory can be as large as the remaining available free hard drive space on your PC, but it’s much slower to access and not as useful as your physical memory.

well…the physical memory, is like your harddrive memory. It’s the memory..that..”memorizes” all the stuff you download. like songs, videos, software, and such. The virtual memory, or RAM memory, is memory that is used temporary to open stuff in your computer…if your have a small amount of RAM memory, your computer will work slow and you wont be able to open as many documents. If you have a lot of RAM memory, opening multiple documents wont be a problem. RAM memory is memory used to open and use stuff and phsycical memory is the memory for downloaded stuff like songs and movies and whatnot.

Ram and hard drive are physical memories. The operating system allocates some memory on the hard drive to use it as ram. This allocated space is known as virtual memory. OS uses it when ram is full and has no more space to keep the data.
